We are delighted to announce OML version 1.0.0 is now available for download. The changes included in this version are largely the direct result of the huge feedback we are receiving from the OML user community.
Over 30 improvements have been made. To pick some of the highlights
-Equipment alarms are now supported by the standard. For example, if a safety issue occurs at equipment, OML can capture this immediately with an event.
-Measurement data from test equipment can now be captured using a dedicated measurement event. This allows the OML standard to easily capture many different kinds of test measurements as part of the OML quality data.
-The way equipment is interlocked using OML has been improved, to make it even easier for an OML consumer application to stop or start equipment remotely.
The decision was made to change some terminology based on user feedback. This means a few OML messages and properties have been renamed. The decision to rename is never taken lightly, because we are aware this can break backward compatibility with older versions, if your application uses the affected OML content.
All changes to the version are available in the version history section of the OML guide specification.
